1987
Love at First Sight
Konstantinos Michael began recycling as a hobby in Cyprus. He collected plastic containers from around his neighbourhood using the garage of his home to store his collection. The plastic containers were collected and distributed to the external sorting facilities where they were processed.
1992
A Growing Passion
Wanting to expand his knowledge on recycling, Konstantinos attended seminars in Italy on recyclable plastics and established productive partnerships with buyers from Greece and Italy.
2000
Family Affair
Konstantinos’ son, Marios, the founder of MMK Planet, shared his father’s passion as he watched and learned. Their passion for recycling allowed the company to blossom into a family business. To further his knowledge, Marios Michael attended seminars on recycling and advised his father to purchase a small baler press of 200kg per hour. A larger press and mill were later purchased as business was increasing.
2011
A Dream Came True
MMK Planet was established by Marios. The company moved out of the family garage and into a factory in the Industrial area of Ypsonas purchasing new and more advanced machinery transforming MMK Planet into a professional, profit making business.
2016
A New Home for a New Identity
MMK Planet sold the majority of its shares to PCC Waste Management, a family business spearheaded by Christos Poullaides, a visionary who believed in the company’s potentials and moved MMK Planet into their current, new and spacious Central Sorting Facility in Limassol.
2017
Another Home for MMK Planet
MMK Planet expanded their operations to Derynia tackling the high demands of the Larnaca and Famagusta districts.
